Free Music, Performance & Sculpture

With Support of Mayor Donald R. Grebien and the Pawtucket Arts Festival, The Engine Institute, Inc. presents the Firefly Festival which is an exciting innovative new concept event combining performance, sculpture and music to create a fun filled experience for all of the family.

September 17th., 3:00-6:30pm, Rain date: September 18th.
Slater Memorial Park’s Daggatt Farm, Pawtucket, RI

Music

Music will be presented by three bands. Neuropop’s artist Lance Massey is a world renowned composer and pop musician who creates haunting lyrics with melodic ear worms that are driving and unforgettable. Singer and songwriter The Dakota Run’s gentle rhythms with a compelling folk/country style will make for a lush experience. And Red Ed and the UnDead will feature elegant vocal harmonies with their melodic guitar driven pop music.

Performance

Following the music will be an exciting performance by the Providence Ballet Theatre’s dancers who will dance to Lance Massey’s “Firefly Chorus.

Sculpture

Internationally known artist China Blue has created the dancer’s flowing “Firefly Capes” that are imbedded with flickering LEDs designed to mimicking our local firefly flashing pattern. Additionally dancers will sway and swarm carrying China Blue’s hand held electronic sculpture “Firefly 2.0”.

Raffle

Providence Bruins tickets and a Keurig coffee maker are some of the things that can be won at the raffle.

We look forward to seeing you there!
